Flip through of my latest sketchbook. I filled this one between August and December last year, and looking at it now I’m surprised that it contains so many drawings from nature and only about 50% lettering!

It’s time to show my face again to welcome the new people who decided to follow me thanks to my post for international women’s day. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
By the way, it’s only post that consistently goes viral every year since I first posted it in 2018. I’m happy it resonates with so many people and at the same time, I wish it didn’t.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Here are some fun facts to introduce myself:⁣⁣
⁣⁣
I grew up on a farm in northern Germany and I have been a vegetarian since I helped slaughtering a cow at the tender age of thirteen. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Around the same time I started to keep a journal, I still write most days and my journal fills more than a hundred notebooks. I sometimes wonder what my life would be like with out writing about my life all the time.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
As a kid, I spent all my pocket money on Barbie dolls, I came out as a lesbian when I was 21 and turned gender queer feminist when I moved to Hamburg shortly after. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
I ride my bike everywhere and though I have a driver’s license I’ve never had a car—or a TV for that matter. I wish cars didn’t exist and the world wasn’t so car-centric. Imagine how different the cities would look?! So quiet, so spacious!⁣⁣
⁣⁣
After high school I did an apprenticeship in a bookshop. I read every day, in the morning, for lunch and at night. My partner says I read too much, but what do they even mean »too much«?! I live through books and other people’s stories and perspectives.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Thank you for your interest in my perspective, sharing my work would be much less fun without you! ⁣⁣

Welcome the 300 new people who arrived thanks to my women’s day post on Wednesday. Thank you for following me, I’m happy you’re here and you encourage me to make political statements more often and speak about my experience of being in the world while being a queer feminist woman. ⁣
⁣
For now, back to lettering animation – here’s a totally unpolitical liquid animation of my studio’s name. ⁣
⁣
The technical bits for those who are interested: ⁣
* I drew this in Adobe Fresco⁣
* Each letter is animated on a separate layer⁣
* The animation consists of 24 frames and is played at a rate of 12 frames per second ⁣
* It took me about 12 hours to turn this piece of lettering into an animation – so glad you asked! ;) ⁣
