To be honest—on Hamburg’s narrow bike paths, cargo bikes sometimes annoy me too. But because they are much, much, much less annoying than cars, I loved drawing these cargo bike stickers.

Designer Oliver Schwartz founded the Cargobike Collective and is working with this community to create more liveable, bicycle-centered cities. He commissioned me with the stickers on the topic.

Ollie wanted the five designs to look very different from one another, so I came up with 5 different lettering styles.

I always start with lots of sketches on paper.

Then I work out the details in larger and more refined drawings.

Once I made all the design decisions on paper, I draw the final vector artwork ditigally—for more control and smoother curves.
