»Toller Ort« means »great place«, and there actually is a place in Hamburg called »Toller Ort«, but it’s not that great a place and it’s name just has to do with collecting port tolls.

All texts in the book are bilingual—German and English—the back cover serves as the English cover.

This Hamburg travel guide is completely photo-free.

A selection of unconventional places to visit, fun texts and hand-drawn lettering illustrations result in a personal and authentic Hamburg city guide.

As a trained bookseller, I say »anything but Amazon« and recommend local bookshops instead.

I grouped the neighborhoods into chapters and illustrated them with fancy lettering. By the way, Toller Ort was my first big lettering commission in 2013.

Hand-drawn neighborhood maps offer a rough overview of the great places in Hamburg.

The updated second edition of Toller Ort was published in 2017.
